What needs fixing?

More than a quick snake

Most clogs build up slowly. Grease and soap coat the inside of kitchen lines, hair collects in bathroom drains, and in older homes, rust and scale narrow cast-iron pipes until little gets through.

Clearing a clog is usually fast. The important part is knowing what caused it and whether the pipe itself is healthy. When a clog keeps coming back, we can run a camera through the line to see exactly what’s happening.

What usually causes clogs

KitchenGrease, food scraps, coffee grounds and soap.
BathroomHair, soap scum and toothpaste.
ToiletsWipes, even “flushable” ones, paper towels and too much paper.
Main lineTree roots, a sagging pipe, or buildup from every drain in the house.

How we clear it

  • Find which drain is clogged and how far down the clog is.
  • Clear most clogs with a drain cable sized for the pipe.
  • Use hydro jetting for grease, scale and roots a cable can’t remove.
  • Camera-inspect lines that clog again and again.
  • Test the drain with running water before we leave.

What affects the price

You get a written price before any work starts. These are the things that move it.

Which drainA bathroom sink is simpler than a main line.
AccessA clean-out we can reach easily saves time.
MethodCable clearing costs less than hydro jetting.

Keep drains flowing

  • Pour grease into a can or the trash, never the sink.
  • Use a hair catcher in showers and tubs.
  • Only flush toilet paper. “Flushable” wipes still clog pipes.
  • Run water for a few seconds after using the garbage disposal.

Drain cleaning questions

Should I use chemical drain cleaners?

We don’t recommend them. They rarely clear a full clog, they can damage older pipes, and they make the job riskier for whoever opens the drain next.

What’s the difference between snaking and hydro jetting?

A drain cable punches through a clog so water can flow again. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scrub grease, scale and roots off the whole inside of the pipe, so it stays clear longer.

Why does my drain keep clogging?

Usually grease, hair or roots building back up, or a pipe that sags or is damaged. A camera inspection shows exactly what’s happening.

How do I know if it’s my main sewer line?

If several drains are slow or back up at once, especially the lowest ones in the house, the main line is the likely cause.
